Guilty
of Joy is a
Slovenian rock band that brings back the spirit of the 90s music scene with a
fresh and modern twist. The band is composed of four seasoned musicians, who
have been playing music for more than 25 years: Žiga Jerič on
guitar, Jure
Jelovčan on bass, Marko Duplišak on vocals, and Rok Zaplotnik on
drums. They are all music enthusiasts who live and breathe music, sharing a
passion for creating and performing their own songs in front of rock fans. They
make hard rock, grunge, and blues, blending powerful riffs, catchy melodies,
and honest lyrics, that reflects their personal and collective experiences,
emotions, and dreams.
Beginnings
date back to the year 2003, when the band’s original lineup consisted of
guitarist Žiga and drummer Rok. A few years later, they were joined by bassist
Jure, further enriching their musical repertoire. Their shared passion for
music led to the creation of a unique sound that would define their musical
journey.
Despite
numerous attempts, the band struggled to find a suitable vocalist. This period,
however, was not without its merits. The band decided to record the best songs
composed during these years, a testament to their unwavering dedication to
their craft. This collection of songs was aptly named “Music Diary”, a musical
chronicle of their journey.
In
2023, a new chapter began for the band with the arrival of singer Marko. His
addition brought a new dynamic to the group, culminating in the release of
their debut album “Music Diary”. With
their lineup finally complete, the band is now ready to make their mark in the
music industry. Their story is a testament to their resilience and commitment
to their art. They are a band born from passion, united by music, and driven by
their shared dream.
